Traditional Fisherman License
It is an official document issued by the General Authority for Fisheries, granting the traditional fisherman legal authorization to engage in marine fishing activities within territorial waters, in accordance with the approved regulations and standards. This license serves as a professional identity for the fisherman and contributes to the regulation of the fishing sector and the promotion of sustainable fishing practices.
Service application requirements
- Completion of the official application form issued by the General Authority for Fisheries
- Submission of the required documents
Eligibility criteria for traditional fisherman:
- The applicant must be of Yemeni nationality
- The applicant must be at least 16 years old
- The applicant must be physically fit to engage in fishing activities
- The applicant must rely on fishing as a primary source of income
- The license application must be submitted in writing to the Licensing Department of the Authority, using the form approved by the Ministry
- The license is issued for a period of three (3) years and is subject to renewal
Required documents
- A copy of the personal identification card or passport
- Two personal (passport-sized) photographs
Fees
- The license is granted to the traditional fisherman free of charge

- Traditional fishermen are required to fully comply with all laws, regulations, decisions, instructions, and guidelines issued by the Ministry or the General Authority for Fisheries.
